Verify the two commanders first

Fuuka must be recruited while her Owari recruitment is still available; the walkthrough says it closes after the third-gourd event. Natori is also required. A later party lineup cannot fix a missed Fuuka recruitment window.

The character-clear reference outlines Fuuka conversations tied to three conquered provinces, visits to the Miko Union and Natori joining. Progress both characters to the relationship states required by the branch instead of merely collecting their names.

Save before the branch choice

In the normal non-Kenshin sequence, advance Fuuka to Trust with Natori at Trust, then inspect the subsequent choice. Choose the second option, which sacrifices Fuuka's ordinary clear path. Talk to Fuuka again afterward; the Natori clear sequence says this makes both commanders important characters. Then open the dungeon through the purple event in Yamatai. The branch choice alone is not the final unlock action.

Kenshin's route has a separate late-game access path with a different boss context; do not assume that reaching the same dungeon name means you are pursuing the optional Orochi fight.

Enter with a full roster plan

The reference lists twenty floors before the boss. The final boss fight restores moves but does not heal wounded characters. Deal with HP before committing, and retain a save that lets you reconsider the encounter.

RiskPreparation
Severe opening area damageAvoid exposing every essential damage dealer at once.
Wounded entrantsHeal before the boss; move restoration is not HP restoration.
Physical attacksReview guard, protective skills and equipment suited to the actual damage.
Support enemiesInclude a way to control the fight beyond attacking the main boss.

Know the consequence of losing

Unlike many story bosses, Orochi is documented as a direct Game Over on defeat. Refusing the optional fight also has a serious Fuuka consequence. Do not enter expecting the ordinary Alice's Mansion retry routine to rescue every choice.

This guide avoids publishing an unverified Steam damage formula or a guaranteed lineup. Use personal-combat basics to assess your roster, and character-clear planning before selecting the unlock branch.
