Identify your edition
The Steam listing dates this release to 1 October 2026, names Alicesoft as developer and Kagura Games / MangaGamer as publishers, and lists English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese interface and subtitle support. Those are store facts; they do not establish that every old event instruction is unchanged.
Use the edition you installed as the starting point for technical questions. An old Japanese disc, a fan-patched installation and the current Steam product should not be treated as interchangeable when choosing an updater or troubleshooting file problem.
What an old guide can tell you
nalmar's walkthrough identifies its target as the unofficial English v1.0 patch. It can help you understand a documented campaign sequence. It cannot, by its publication date alone, prove Steam terminology, compatibility or exact event behavior.
| Source | Good use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current Steam store | Release identity and listed features | No detailed route prerequisites. |
| Legacy original-author guide | Attributed campaign and mechanics guidance | Predates the Steam build. |
| Alicesoft legacy support | Original release support context | Not a Steam updater instruction. |
| A player discussion | Find the question or symptom to investigate | One comment is not confirmation. |
Do not install an unrelated updater
Alicesoft's legacy support page offers original-release updates and specifically warns against applying them to certain download and budget editions. That is a reason to match the support instructions to your product, not a reason to experiment with the Steam files. Use the support channel for the installed edition when a technical issue persists.
Compare your game with a walkthrough
- Note the edition and language you are using.
- Confirm whether your save is a first run or a repeat playthrough.
- Compare the described event and its requirements, not only a translated label.
- Keep a separate save before a route-sensitive decision.
- When reporting a mismatch, include the edition, route, recent actions and exact missing command.
We have not performed an in-game comparison of the Steam build. We therefore label legacy material and omit unsupported claims that Steam is mechanically identical, that old saves transfer, or that particular mods work.
For campaign orientation, start with the beginner guide. For documented official product details, use the Steam page.
