Know what this roadmap covers

This is a first-clear planning guide with light structural spoilers. It helps you choose the right reference and keep your campaign organized; it does not reproduce a turn-by-turn script or promise a particular completion date.

nalmar's walkthrough targets the True History route and separates first-time play from repeat play. Start with its first-play section if you want that documented legacy sequence. The Steam store independently describes branching storylines after a first completion, without publishing a route checklist.

Separate three kinds of goals

GoalHow to treat it in your plan
Main campaign progressCheck the current objective before optional detours.
A character or event you care aboutKeep a separate save and verify its actual prerequisites.
A better ending scoreTrack it as an optional optimization goal rather than your only measure of success.

Our recommendation is to keep these in separate notes. Otherwise, a missed optional event can feel like a ruined campaign even when your main objective remains possible.

Keep a checkpoint notebook

As a small legacy opening example, nalmar starts by opening the prison in Owari, then declares war on Hara and attempts a capture. The next stage uses a captured foot soldier for early support. These are the opening's dependencies, not a verified Steam turn script; refer to the original guide before extending the sequence.

At a major story transition, record the turn, active fronts, relevant commanders, recent conversations and the next objective. This gives you something concrete to compare when a guide and your game diverge.

Before a difficult decision, keep a save you can identify later. A useful checkpoint is a known state, not merely the most recent save slot. If you return to it, change one relevant decision at a time so you can see what affected the outcome.

When the sequence diverges

First determine whether the difference is optional timing, a required prerequisite, or a version mismatch. Do not assume every event should appear on the same numbered turn in every campaign. A strict documented sequence has its own assumptions about recruitment and earlier actions.

For exact legacy steps, open nalmar's original walkthrough and select the first-play section. This site does not claim Steam route conditions have been tested in-game.

Before beginning another run

Write down one thing you want to do differently: a different story branch, a better army plan or a particular recruit. The next run is easier to organize around one clear goal than around completing every optional task at once. Continue with the New Game Plus overview after your first clear.
