Choose the starting bonus first
The classic bonus reference lists Can kill Toukichirou at ten points after a first clear. It is selected before starting the campaign. Waiting until the normal story has advanced does not retroactively enable that starting option.
From turn seven, the relevant Owari command can appear; the first gourd closes its window. Verify the command before using an action on a conquest or event that advances that gourd sequence.
A sandbox has different story assumptions
The route removes most Xavier-related plot events. It is useful for exploring certain characters and family-bonus goals without the normal central storyline, but it is not identical to an ordinary True route with its timer disabled.
| Ordinary assumption | Monkeyslayer distinction |
|---|---|
| A normal story route ends at its final boss | This route ends with full conquest and an end-turn action. |
| Kentarou joins through the central plot | He does not join here. |
| All timed items arrive as usual | Some ordinary gift and permit events do not occur. |
| Clearing any route grants route-clear points | This route has no extra route-clear bonus points. |
Plan a bonus objective separately from full conquest
If the purpose is a family bonus, record the required commanders and reunion event before declaring wars. Takeda still needs its particular recruitment chain; the sandbox does not make every protected enemy capturable immediately.
Some character and faction interactions can happen at unusual times because the ordinary story is absent. Check the route's own notes when an expected event does not appear, rather than borrowing a numbered turn from a different campaign.
Keep enough army for the whole map
Full conquest means you eventually need a sustainable roster and a plan for remaining fronts. Early freedom can help preparation, but staying at peace indefinitely does not prove that newly introduced clans will remain harmless.
Use national power for capacity and capture rules for army growth. All exact unlock details in this article are classic-release documentation; compare Steam event labels and equivalent conditions through the version guide.
